This picture was taken under the influence of the style of Helen Levitt. Her candid, street photography inspired me to capture an essence of San Francisco in a picture. This photo, taken at Fisherman's wharf, is of a street performer in her natural state. Much like Helen Levitt, this photo was also taken in black and white, creating a value which leads the eyes to the subject and her surroundings. This environmental portrait emphasizes the subject through balance and is also symmetrical throughout.
